Vases and the Beauty of a Single Stem

Our vases range from slender bud vases that hold a single flower to bold, sculptural statement pieces that need nothing in them at all. Each is a chance for a maker to explore form — the narrow neck of a bud vase, the generous belly of a larger pot, the low, wide mouth of an ikebana dish.
Because a vase is so often displayed empty, its shape and surface carry the whole effect. These are the pieces where our makers’ confidence really shows, and where hand-building and the wheel both come into their own.
Place one on a windowsill with a single stem from the garden, and a quiet, handmade object becomes the focal point of a room — and a daily reminder of the hands that shaped it.
